Our Services

What is Nutrition Counseling?

During a nutrition counseling session we want to hear what health means to you, discuss your current lifestyle and diet and work collaboratively with you to develop and achieve realistic goals. A nutrition counseling session will NOT be a lecture about what you should or should not be eating, “good” or “bad” foods or any type of fad diets/supplements.

If you are someone who has tried many different “diets,” someone who is trying to reduce your risk of or are struggling with a chronic health condition or need assistance with weight management, you will benefit from nutrition counseling.

Nutrition Counseling is also beneficial for athletes who want to improve performance, pregnant or postpartum mothers, children who are picky eaters and/or have food allergies/intolerances as well as the everyday busy parent who has difficulty making healthy choices for themselves or their children.

Initial Consultation

(1 - 2 hours)

The initial consultation includes a full assessment of your diet and lifestyle history including obstacles you have faced, medical history, family history, medications, and lab results. Based on your assessment we will provide evidenced based nutrition education and help you to develop short term and long term nutrition and health goals that are tailored to you.

Anthropometrics such as height, weight and BMI will be taken. Please be aware that your weight will only be used for determining nutritional needs for specific clients. We will not show you your weight unless requested and we will not use weight as a measure of success.

Follow Up Appointments

(30 minutes - 1 hour)

Follow up appointments will include an evaluation of your progress from previous appointments. These appointments are meant to keep you motivated to achieve your goals and to help develop new goals if applicable based on your progress.
